Where have you been? … You may ask

Well well …. long answer.
I have been a very busy girl, with courses, visitors and holidays. It has all been happening in this corner of the world.
But Life itself, it has been very good. I can’t complain at all.
Finished my sewing course August/ September, so now I’m ready, she says …….. to get out of my comfort zone, and adventure myself into the sewing world.
In the Patchwork world, want to start a baby quilt this weekend, again not following any pattern, just following my instinct. Really Life would be so much easier If I followed a pattern, but it wouldn’t be the same would it?
You know me, just find the part of creating as interesting as the making of it.
So that are the plans for this weekend.
The holiday …….. oh the holiday ……. was just ……….. perfect!!
I had a great time, with family, three generations that got on so well, it was just amazing.
And Lisbon as beautiful as ever …….
The people, the food, the city itself, full of new vibrant places, what a great place
So Life is treating me well, and with age, one thing I’ve learned is to savour every single minute, enjoy every moment and make the most of what it has to offer me.
I’m a very Lucky Lady, have some truly Special people in my Life, so I don’t stress about writing, I don’t stress about much nowadays, wish somebody would have told me this a few years ago.
But … as they say it’s never too late
Plans keep changing, but for now I’m going to make the most of what I have, truly and honestly because I deserve it.

Holiday memories II

The lazy days at the beach

All day of reading and relaxing…… PERFECT!!!



It’s amazing how a day of lightning, thunderstorms and rain, was probably one of my most relaxing days on holiday
It makes you think really, that sometimes, not every moment has to be Perfect to be Special
And I think I won’t ever forget this day

Love it, and already miss it

And this week …. Holiday time has finally arrived!!

Yes finally it’s the last few days before going on a long flight to Paradise!
It’s so so cold outside, and I’m trying to pack and organise my summer clothes.
I finished what I was trying to finish, all sewn and all ready to go.
Now my sewing machine is going to have a break too, no sewing for the whole of three weeks
In my luggage, also goes a big sketchbook,finally ……. I will have time
Time to relax, time to ponder and time to draw
What better place, than to do all that in my Paradise
The place where all my Big Decisions in Life were done.
So I will be quiet for a while in Blog land

Books

Unfortunately books and reading is a very rare thing on my daily Life
Just not enough hours in the day
So when it’s time for the beach holidays, I start thinking in advance what am I taking to read
Well this year there’s one borrowed, one bought and one that was given as a present
They are heavy, but there are two full weeks, and two long flights, I’m sure there’ll be enough to read



Two in Portuguese, and a BIG one in English
Can’t wait!!

Thoughts

It was lovely to go back to Portugal
It always is, lovely family, lovely friends, lovely food and lovely country.
I’m not going to talk about politics, I’m sure we are all aware of what is going on.
I do so much, I walk so much, I eat so much … it’s all too much
No wonder I get home, and it takes me a few days to get back to ‘normal’.
I have been sleeping lots, yes I slept very little while I was there.
Life is different, you simply can’t compare.
I love it there, but this is now what I’m used to.
There you go out for dinner, at nine, ten…. here at six I’m having my dinner
Life here is slower, less stressful, greener
This is what I got used to.
I asked myself… where is home?
I still have to think…
But I suppose this is home, this is where i chose to live, this is where I have been for many many years
There I have almost everything, family, lots of friends and lots of memories.
Here is where I chose to live and where with the years I build the life that I live today
So this is Home, in a sense of the word.

Holiday Part II – Setubal

There’s a town near where my parents live, that has the best cuttlefish that I have ever eaten.
Every time I go there I have to go and enjoy this magnificent dish
Should be on that list of the ‘ Wonders of the World’

This city is called Setubal, in my view nothing special, but the views, and the beaches near it, are just wonderful

I’m back!!!

Oh yes holiday time has finished, or shall I say mini holiday?
It was just great, and it just went soooo fast!!
Lisbon is a gorgeous city, just fall in love, even more, every time I go there











It is just beautiful!!
And to help, the weather was just gorgeous…
Well worth a visit if you have never been there
I will leave the rest for another post

Holiday mode I

Well … making a few bags at the moment!!
But up to now, I gave them all away, apart from two, and me … well me doesn’t really have many.
And me, just bought some lovely trainers, and me is going on holiday soon…
So me, has drawn a new bag, this time for me, would you believe it
Well it will be a mixture, but these two will definitely….. (she says)…. be part of it!!

All booked!!

If there’s one thing I love, is holidays
If there’s one thing I hate is to book them, normal? Probably not
So for this year, all is booked, and all is sorted
Starting with five days in this beautiful city, always lots to do, always miss lots, because time is just so short.



I’m one of those that haven’t got a lot of holidays a year, shame really, and working on the travel business, I’m missing lots.
But hey, that’s why it’s so important to really enjoy the one’s I have.
So for the whole of two weeks this is going to be the scenery:

And lots and lots of this



I love there, and if I tell you it’s going to be my sixth time…..
Truly has everything that I need for the Perfect Holiday
All I need now is lots of books, wait till December and off I go!!
Koh Samui in Thailand is just the Paradise for me, it was on that beach, that I made one of the most important decision of my life
Never looked back!!
It’s very Special.

And my type of holiday, what I really call holiday, is just beach and sun, far away….

In this exact beach I found and I tasted Paradise

I have been there four times, and I just love it!!!

The search has started……..

Will it be Thailand once again?

I still have five months to think about it
