Girlie night

Amanha é dia de 'Girlie Night', e é a minha vez de cozinhar, entao temos como entrada Pate de Camarao e Caranguejo, servido com Pittas 
Para prato principal, temos panados de galinha com sementes de sesamo, com batatas ou arroz (ainda nao pensei bem no assunto), e vegetal, o que houver amanha no mercado com bom aspecto
E para sobremesa framboesas com chantilly
Poucas calorias!!!
E muita muita conversa...... como eu adoro estas encontros
E nós meninas nao gostamos muito de falar.......


Tomorrow is ' Girlie Night', and it's my turn to cook, so for starters we have, Prawn and Crab Pate with Pittas.
Main Course we have Deep fried Chicken with Sesame Seeds, with potatoes or rice (haven't decided yet), and a vegetal, I'll see what looks good in the market tomorrow
For desert we have Raspeberries with cream
All low fat!!!
And a lotta lotta of talking... I just love these meetings
And us girlies don't like to talk.......

Hoje esteve um dia muito quente aqui na Inglaterra, 29 graus, para nós acreditem que é quente......existe algo melhor que chegar a casa e depois da banhoca e jantar acabar o dia sentada no jardim, com um gelado Haagen Dazs?
Simplesmente perfeito!!!


Today was a very hot day here in the UK, 29 degrees, for us,believe me is pretty good... is there anything better than arriving home, have a bath, dinner, and ending the night sitting outside in the garden with a tub of Haagen Dazs?
Simply perfect!!!

Chocolate

Sabemos quando temos amigos no trabalho, quando estamos deseperados por chocolate, telefonamos e ninguem tem chocolate, mas vao á loja para nos comprar....... a isto é que eu chamo amizade e aquele quadradinho de chocolate soube-me tao bem.......


We know when we have friends at work, when you are really desperate for chocolate, we phone around and nobody has chocolate, but they go out and get some.... that is what I call friendship and that little square of chocolate was just so great......

Weekend

O fim de semana foi fantastico, comecou com o meu curso no sabado, onde finalmente mostrei o quilt que tinha feito, foi um momento espetacular, mais ainda por ninguem sonhar que eu já o tinha acabado. Adorei.
Domingo, patchwork, almoco no jardim, patchwork, relaxe, patchwork e mais patchwork...
Fim de semana perfeito!!!


This weekend was fantastic, started with the course on Saturday, when I finally showed the quilt that I finished, it was a fantastic moment, because nobody dreamed  that I had finished. I loved it
Sunday, patchwork, lunch in the garden, patchwork, relax, patchwork and more patchwork....
Perfect weekend!!!

E sim comecei os meus presentes de Natal,todos feitos á mao este ano..... e nao, nao os posso mostrar como é obvio.

Paciencia.... Patience

OK se isto é nao ter paciencia nao sei o que é...
É sabado á noite e aqui a menina decidiu comecar um saco hoje, isto depois de já ter feito uma toalha e mais uns envelopes, estao lindos!!!
Mas como estava a dizer, nada como comecar um saco, note-se primeira vez que o faco, instrucoes nao muito claras, ou eu que nao dava com elas.... só quero dizer que já desmanchei duas vezes.... mas nao só um lado, nem dois... mas sim tres .... finalmente acho???? que consegui....
Tudo o que eu quero fazer é um saco igualzinho ao supermercado, mas aquele fundo, estava-me a tirar do sério... 
Quem disse que eu nao sou paciente, prometo que hoje passei o teste.


OK if this is not to be patient, then I don't know what is...
It's Saturday night and this lady decided to start a bag tonight, this is after a tablecloth and some envelopes, they are beautiful!!!
But as I was saying, nothing better than starting a bag, please note, first time I did it, the instructions, not very clear, or I just couldn't get them.... Let me tell you that I 've already unstitched twice..... not just one side, nor two..... but three..... finally I think???? I got it.....
All I want to do is a supermarket carrier bag, but the bottom, was driving me absolutely nuts...
Whoever said I'm not patient, I promise I passed the test.

Novo desafio... New challenge

Este desafio vai ter duas partes, ou seja vai ser feito em grupo
Uma parte aqui na Inglaterra e outra aí em Portugal
Entao uma simples toalha de mesa, vai ser transformada para condizer numa cozinha amarela e branca
Depois de muito pensar, ja passamos ao passo seguinte, que e o comecar..
Já nao estamos mal.
E um dia destes depois passo a bola, neste caso a toalha, para a fase final, a parte do crochet
E a minha mae terá assim uma bela toalha de mesa feita a duas (neste caso 4) maos, as minhas e as dela

This challenge is going to be in two parts, it's going to be a group project
One part here in the UK and the other in Portugal
So a simple tablecloth, it's going to be transformed to match a yellow and white kitchen
After a lot of thinking, we have moved to the next stage, that's the starting point
Not bad.
And one of this days I'll pass the ball, in this case the tablecloth for the final part, the crochet part
And my Mum will have a gorgeous tablecloth made by two (in this case 4) hands, mine and hers

As fotos sao tiradas a noite, portanto a luz nao é a melhor, parece mais laranja, mas sao mesmo amarelas

The photos are taken at night, so the light is not great, they look more orange, but they are yellow

Help!!!

Eu tenho que admitir, é muito mais fácil ir a uma loja e comprar panos que condizam uns com os outros.
Eu adoro, ir a uma loja de tecidos e passar lá horas a fazer este exercicio
Sem duvidas!!
Mas depois temos aquelas pessoas adoraveis que nos oferecem panos, porque sabem da nossa paixao
E aí, é que veem os desafios, o que fazer deles, como os combinar, sao tudo questoes que nos passam pela cabeca.
Estas amostras foram-me oferecidas há pelo menos um ano, e estavam ali, e eu resolvi agora fazer alguma coisa delas
Nao vos posso dizer ainda bem o que. Comecou por ser para um quilt, mas sao muito diferentes, e eu que estou tao habituada a harmonia das cores em tudo o que faco
Isto é que eu chamo de um verdadeiro desafio
Estou confusa, tem ideias?


I have to admit, that it's much easier to go to a fabric shop, and buy fabric that match with each other
I love, to go to my usual shops and spend hours doing so
No doubts!!
But then we have those fantastic people, that give us fabrics, because they know we love it.
And here comes the challenge, what to do with them, how to colour coordinate them, all those questions that go through our mind
These samples were all given to me about a year ago, they were in the side, and I have now decided to do something with them.
Can't really tell you what are my plans, started with a quilt, but they are all so different, and specially me that is so used to colour coordinate everything I do
This is truly a challenge for me
I'm confused, any ideas?
