For a Baby Girl

It’s very rewarding to do little things every so often, because you start and you finish so quick.
And you know how much I love the girlie stuff…… sorry boys!!

Using Scraps

IMG_6656

I buy (quite) a bit of fabric, see how that word is in brackets…….. ok I admit. I love fabric
I have a considerable stash, well not as big as I see some in certain blogs.
I love it, and I think the best feeling is when you are doing something, and there’s a change of mind, and voila, it’s late in the day all the shops are closed, but you don’t need them
You have just that perfect match
Somehow……. I sound a bit addicted Winking smile
But ….. as I was saying, I do love to use scraps, you know that already.
I love applique, so combine the two, and it’s a perfect match
And those colours, well what can I say …………..
Can’t wait to mix all those softies Smile

My First Quilt

This was the first quilt I ever made.
As you know, I have a passion for recycling fabric, and this Quilt was made with my dad’s old shirts.
The 19 flowers symbolise my parents wedding day, and their lucky number.
It was a very tough year for Dad, that year, fortunately he got well, and those dark days have gone.
So this is it, a Quilt with a lot of meaning, and it was my first one.
Very very Special I shall say

Quarto 028

Quarto 030

Talking about recycling, this next weekend all those fabrics that once upon a time were skirts are going to turn squares.
Today I bought a navy one and actually those 100% wool fabrics are just fantastic, the lady in the charity shop, was talking to me, about what a fantastic skirt I was buying for a bargain price of £3.00
She looked shocked when I told her that I was going to ‘dismantle’ the whole skirt
And then quietly she said: I hope you know what you are doing
I just replied: Let’s hope so Winking smile

Have a great weekend

Mum and Dad's quilt 004

Still with a one and a half arm, operational, there’s more and more things being added to the list
Keeping with small projects at the moment. Leaving the ‘biggies’ for later, talking big, this was a nice one to make, the turning 20, mixed with quilt as you go, and some applique.
Nothing like keeping things easy Winking smile.
Was such a lovely one to make, and it’s in pretty good hands now.
Anyway have a great weekend, and enjoy life, have fun!!!! xxx

Novo desafio... New challenge

This challenge is going to be in two parts, it's going to be a group project
One part here in the UK and the other in Portugal
So a simple tablecloth, it's going to be transformed to match a yellow and white kitchen
After a lot of thinking, we have moved to the next stage, that's the starting point
Not bad.
And one of this days I'll pass the ball, in this case the tablecloth for the final part, the crochet part
And my Mum will have a gorgeous tablecloth made by two (in this case 4) hands, mine and hers

As fotos sao tiradas a noite, portanto a luz nao é a melhor, parece mais laranja, mas sao mesmo amarelas

The photos are taken at night, so the light is not great, they look more orange, but they are yellow

Acabada - Finished

E aqui esta a toalha acabada e prontinha para ser lavada

Cores garridas, para tardes de calor

And here is the finished tablecloth ready to be washed

Bright colours to sunny afternoons
