The sewing mood is back on

Sometimes it disappears, for a few instances, whether I’m happy, sad or just with lots on my mind
But it’s back, and nothing better than have just one quilt on hands let’s have two Winking smile
If you follow me in Instagram or Facebook you have already seen the one I started for myself
It’s a very soft, light coloured quilt, and I can already imagine that one finished
I love the two colours basically, and I just wanted something as simple and as effective as this one

This will be a very peaceful quilt, for a different state of mind.
I go through stages, don’t know if it’s me, but being a Gemini, change is very important too
So every, so often, the Quilts rotate, according to the moods
And then, well, if there’s not much colour on the previous one, this second one, for a gorgeous little boy makes up for it

Choosing fabric to be added on, it’s proving to be a bit harder
So many options, definitely makes it so much harder
But hopefully soon a decision will be made

As you can see the mojo, is definitely back on, and at the moment there’s no more plans to start a different quilt, because there’s a few sewing projects, on the side, that have been started, but yet, to be finished
Just as well I’m not is a rush Winking smile
Have a great week xx

It's all a matter of balance

When I started in the Patchwork world, I was amazed how many people in that circle were related to the Finance world, me included.

But it makes sense, because it’s a sort of escape, from numbers, spreadsheets ……

It’s a great combination, I have to admit, to have the balance of these two worlds.

It’s brilliant to be creative, a dreamer but in the other hand it’s a great help to have your feet on the ground and having the ‘real’ side of the brain turned on every so often.

A few years ago, I decided to turn my Life, upside down. I had ‘everything’ in other people’s eyes, but yet, I had nothing.

It got worse before it got better, but my God was it worth it?

The answer to that one is a massive fat YES!!!!

Back then I knew, very deep, that there had to be something much better in the other end, didn’t know what, didn’t know how to get there, but I knew something had to exist.

The path was hard, very hard at times, and when I joined the Patchwork group, I definitely was giving the most important step to achieve, some of my goals in Life

To find the Balance, Contentment and  the Joy that I wanted from it.

Today I ticked all those boxes. I achieved goals, that before I thought that they were going to be ‘almost’ impossible, but never gave up

Today I can tell you that yes I’m a dreamer, but also a doer, and this is what I was after all those years ago.

I found the balance, and never thought that walking in that Patchwork course one September morning that I would find all the answers that I was looking for.

Sometimes in Life something that seemed at the time, insignificant, was one of the most important decisions in my Life.

Dream BIG, because like me when you get the rewards, my God … they are so worth it.

It feels like…..

…. moving home !!
When there’s a Patchwork day out, it takes a while to prepare the stuff
It starts with what am I going to do?
This is usually the first question, and after packing machine and accessories, I still don’t know
It’s a fun, fantastic day, but don’t think there’s no work involved
Oh yes there is.
This is the boot of the car

And this is the back seat

But when the company and the scenery are just fantastic, all the carrying is well well worth it

Borders for the Jelly Roll Quilt

I did touch my big quilt, and did two out of the three borders, but….
But, when I went for the third and final border it just didn’t do it for me.
And because I am a bit of a perfectionist, if it says ‘nay’ in my brain, is definitely a no
Tomorrow I will have to go to the shop and buy fabric for that third border
Here is the quilt with two of the borders

Jelly Roll Borders 004

It is just getting big, and I think I won’t be able to quilt at the moment with my one and a half arm. Too big!!!
And about my arm, I have an appointment tomorrow, with a man, that I hope that it sorts my arm out.
Fingers crossed !!!

25 March 2012

Ready to start quilting

With one and a half arm, it takes longer, but things have to move, because I can’t see the baby waiting for my arm to get sorted.
So slowly, things are moving.
Ready to be quilted.

My first ever Cathedral Window
Not  100% perfect but, very close, fantastic technique, quite easy once you get the hang of it.
But requires a bit of patience
Great to use all your scraps
Can’t wait to do some more with all different fabrics
Can you tell that I am impressed?

The weekend

What a lovely weekend this one has been.
It involved Patchwork, and lots of it, the Baby Green Quilt is beautiful and it has been a truly pleasure to make.
Lots of cooking, tried this new recipe just came out of the oven can’t wait to try.
Went to a not so nice Car Boot Sale, but it was worth the walk, early in the morning.
Had a siesta, what a great feeling, absolutely love it.
Peace and quiet, was truly relaxing.
Sorted out the clothes and finish all the ironing
Well I couldn’t have done more this weekend
Feel Happy and in the end of the day that’s all it matters.
Have a great week everybody, and be Happy!!!!!!

Tomorrow is the day

Do you remember this and this tomorrow is the firstday of the new course, and tomorrow we'll be doing that cushion, and the chosen one was the middle one

You ask if I have allready cut all for tomorrow, I only had two months to get ready?
Of course not!! Nothing like leaving it all for the last minute ;-)

I'm so looking forward for tomorrow

Yet more decisions...

Decisoes..... decisoes.......

In our first lesson this year, we are going to do a Log Cabin Fold & Finish Cushion, one more technique.
We have our instructions to cut the material before we go, all fine up to that point, the worst is to choose the materials, was recommended to choose 6.
After a lot of thought, I chose these ones.
I won't guarantee they will be the ones, but for today they are.
Decisions..... decisions........
