.. for you to get a really nice, confortable pair of jeans?
You keep wearing them,  they start getting better with the age, suddenly …..
they start  ripping!!
And you can’t let them go….. or I can’t!

What more does a girl want..

I’m sitting here in my small ‘studio’ and I’m just so peaceful, so happy..
I’m surrounded by gorgeous and I mean gorgeous fabric, beautiful projects everywhere I look
I’m watching ‘ Grand Designs’ that I absolutely love, one day …… never stop dreaming !!!
And with the sewing machine now in quiet mode, I just contemplate my surroundings
And I’m thankful.
I’m thankful to the lovely man I share my life with, to my beautiful family and friends.
The way I feel, the way this beautiful home makes me feel
I’m a very lucky girl!!
And I so well know it.

Life is just so Beautiful!!!!!!

And last but not least, Happy Anniversary to my Beautiful Parents on their 48 years of marriage!!! .... All I say is wow!!
Love you xx

I promise ....

.....I really am trying hard to build 'the' stock for 'the shop', showed to a friend, and two have already gone.

I shouldn't complain at all, my question is: Will I have have enough stock to open?

I don't want to open with one or two things.

I suppose that's a great start. I would say it's a fantastic start.

So much to do ..... so little time!!!

16 September 2012

So little time……

Well a day shopping is good…… a day fabric shopping is fabulous!!!
And yesterday was just a fantastic day!!
Well as you can see I have reason to be so Happy.
Great choice, if I might say so ….

There’s some more, but I’ll leave that ‘Special’ purchase for another time.
It’s exciting, what a lovely material to work with, and now there’s a lot of work to do
Let’s start the ball rolling Winking smile
Have a great week

Nearly there …

… just four to go!!!

scrap

And so easily could have stopped doing this one, I’ll tell you why
As I said to you, this fabric, was given to me, and they were catalogues with fabric samples.
Never used anything  like this before .
Well I’m one for trying.
Started cutting the squares all fine, as usual, use the iron for everything …… some squares when I put them together, they weren’t matching, size wise…
Hummmmm…. something just wasn’t right!!
Starch, too much starch on the fabrics, once I put the hot iron, they were shrinking….. fantastic.
At this point one could have easily moved to the boxes of lovely new fabric, that are waiting in this room of mine
Not me, I was determined, I found a solution..
The top of this quilt is nearly done, it’s a messy one, by my standards, nothing matches
But I love it, and couldn’t abandon it!!
Too much passion, in everything I do.
Somebody said to me today, when you talk about patchwork, fabric we can see your passion, is all over your face
It’s so true, I just can’t explain!!
And this one, although not perfect, because of the adjustments I had to do, is going to be a Beauty!!!

Time for a change

Well well, who would have believed that in the space of a week I would start two quilts…
If you had told me that last week, I would say impossible.
Anyway, never say never!!
About two /three years ago, I was given, by a beautiful Lady, 3/4 catalogues of fabric samples

1
I wanted to do something with them but didn’t know what.
This week I bought this book, and it’s absolutely addictive!!

IMG_4855

Seriously, it has beautiful quilts!!
In one page they show an ‘antique’ quilt, and the next page, they show and they teach the modern version of that quilt

IMG_4856

IMG_4857

Oh well I fell in love with the antique version of one (not shown) for a reason.
I’m totally leaving my comfort zone!! And I mean totally!!
Whereas in my previous quilts, everything I do matches, this one, I want the opposite
I don’t want anything to match.
It’s quite fun actually, to mix neutral, with strong colours, sometimes I just think, yuck, they are so different
But that’s the intention.
You know me, I love scrap quilts and this is a real one
This is the one that’s going to be in the sofa, this is going to be my ‘all over the place’ quilt
But I never go the easy route, I think you have figured that one out.

2

So I’ve decided to cut small squares, and I mean small, two and a half inch squares, and just mix them all, and turn them into bigger squares
Just like this:

3

As you can see, lovely mess!!
But that’s exactly how I want it to look!!
And then….. well and then…..
You’ll just have to wait and see Winking smile

Well … for the more attentive will have noticed that I jumped from quilt number one, the red scrappy one, to quilt number three.
I’m keeping that Special girlie one, for a Special occasion, each square takes a lonnnnnnnnnnng time to make it, hexagons, hand sewing and so many things going at the same time
I will show you, just need to do one more square.
This weekend I’m going to focus on this one
Once I’ve cut the around two thousand or two million squares, I think it will be a quick one…… she says!!
Watch this space, and these scrappy quilts definitely test all the patience that you thought you never had it
And I’m suddenly in love, with a quilt that has absolutely nothing to do with me.
You learn something everyday!!
The weekend is nearly here Winking smile
Take care
xx

Flowing

Sometimes Life is like this ..... it flows.

Without much effort, pieces start falling into place.

Today it feels like that, feels like I'm walking smoothly ... on another planet probably.

But wherever it is, it feels so good!!!

5 September 2012

Sssssshhhhhh......

Don't tell anybody.....

I've started a new quilt!!

Three on the go.....

Did I say I would only do one @ a time?

Are you sure?

I blame the amount of fabric I have, and the books I buy

Ssssshhhhh ...... you know what?

I'm sooooooooooooooo Happyyyyy!!!!

In the end of the day that's all it matters

Another day in London

Long time no see…..
Last Saturday went to Soho, London for a Street Photography Course.
Three fantastic hours. It wasn’t so much about taking lovely pictures, was to get a bit more depth how to take pictures.
The company was brilliant, and it was a really enjoyable Saturday.
In the last three quarters, we were meant to focus on a subject and have at least four photos about the subject.
What I found interesting is the people, that are visitors, most of them, and they are so focused on their mobiles, walking and missing most of the views
So that was my subject, I took lots was as easy as that
Obviously not going to show you all of them, just one because I thought this young man, had a cute expression

IMG_4798
After the course and not far away we had lunch in Convent Garden, the atmosphere is amazing, and every time I go there, something else different is happening there
Of course it’s all about the Olympic Games

IMG_4815

And in the corner they sat up a cinema, with beach chairs
What a great idea!!

IMG_4825

IMG_4826

So that was my Saturday, in between millions of people, but this city never ceases to amaze me.
One has to love London!!

On the crafty note, my hexagon experience, is going very well, massive project, not for the fainted heart, but just loving it at the moment.
Very very girlie!!! I know a few people are just going to call me crazy, but I love it!!
I promise to show you the photos, but not just yet, have to advance a bit and let me tell you that book is just amazing.
Love it to bits!!
Talking about books…… well that will be tomorrow’s post!!
It’s like each book I buy, just gets better and better, and the one I got today……. it’s a beauty!!
Have a great week everybody xx
