What a day …

After my beautiful day yesterday, the day unfortunately ended with sad news.
Life sometimes is just so hard, that it hurts
So today a lot have been on my thoughts
Life is so short, and I want to make the most of it
So started the day with some exercise, two hours cycling

Excellent cycling no rush, just steady
As we were cycling along the path, we could smell the barbecues, and had an idea
We don’t usually have lunch, i.e., knife and fork, but I thoughts let’s be rebels
Let’s have one … too, after all this exercise
So we did, and on the menu, was barbecued squid, that I just adore, with tomatoes, potatoes, and a nice lemon sauce
It was divine, and of course the weather was just asking for it, that is actually the sun, in the UK ehehehee

I want my Life to be filled with moments like this, Special and Unique moments
No plans, just easy, and moments that make you just Happy
Today was a good day, in my mind there’s sadness because I’m so far away from my Best Friend, but I’m with her in thought
Make the most of this Life, and make all the minutes feel Special
Have a great Sunday xxx

Well Saturday has been busy!!!
Nothing like starting the day shopping, but not any shopping…. oh no!!

Could there be any better start of a day?

Then a trip to a Portuguese Food Shop
Sometimes nothing beats Homemade Portuguese Cuisine
Followed by a nice Portuguese Lunch

On the way home some seafood for lunch tomorrow

And just before reaching home a trip to Garden Centre to close the day’s shopping with a gold star

Some Oregano e some nice Lemon Verbena for tea Smile

And of course more Lavender

And I think the garden, has enough this year
All we need now is lots of sunshine
I now, need to rest … from today!! Driving in London on a busy day when there’s a few sports finals on, it’s not easy
Love London, but love it more when I’m at home, in peace and quiet
Lots of sewing on the agenda
Have a great Saturday xx

Progress

Well started yesterday and today or I mean now, is half way there

IMG_6328
Very Feminine, and I do love the mixture of the colours

IMG_6325

And to finish my post I leave you with a picture from my garden, that puts a smile in my face
My mint with chocolate and my mint decided to grow around the pot, I suppose the snow killed the middle bit, but it’s coming strong Smile

Suits me down to the ground

Scrappy Log Cabin

IMG_6294

One thing that really causes me that ‘itching’ feeling is the amount of scraps that one accumulates
Always thinking of what to do with them.
Amazing how one can buy fabric with such speed, and then finds that scraps really irritates her lol
This is definitely going to be my on-going project …
All I know is that it’s going to have a colour scheme, that’s a beginning….. haven’t thought of anything else yet Winking smile
But I’m sure there’s a lonnnnnngggg way to go yet
Not to worry, I’m sure I will have finished a few others before this one
But as I’ve said before, scrappy quilts always make me feel good, there’s the memories, and there’s a Lady that’s waiting to see the result of this one
I went to one of her classes, and while everybody went dark/ light I went light/very light
There’s always one Smile
But what makes a really good tutor, is to accept everybody’s decisions and surely this one did
I was different but I didn’t feel that she minded
Well that’s the story of my life really.
Always see things from different angles
But I’m Happy, and I supposed that’s what matters in the end of the day Smile
As for my Scrappy Quilt, be patient this one will be done ………………………… eventually!!!

New tool

Well two new tools in a week
I must be getting old…… if all I want is an easier life Smile
This is the Angler 2

IMG_6286
It’s suppose to:
Cut piecing time in half
You don’t need to draw lines for diagonal sewing
Great for Flying Geese, triangles, squares and mitered corners
And includes accurate 1/4 seam guide

I might even start liking triangles….. hummm that still needs to be seen
That will be a miracle!!
Anyway I think me and this Angler will be very good friends
I leave you this You Tube link if you would like to see a bit more
Let’s test those triangles Winking smile

Life

IMG_3186

You asked me what’s the secret?
I tell you I haven’t got a recipe
My secret to a Happy Life, has taken many years, many falls, many paths
My secret is to keep focus on what I wanted from Life
My secret is to ‘ignore’ what others think of me, of my choices, their criticism
My secret is always to be me… 100%
Sometimes it’s painful, sometimes it hurts
It’s not an easy ride. Don’t fool yourself
But it’s worth every single bit
What I want from it, it’s not necessarily what you want
We are all different, that’s for sure
In this journey, only one person matters
That’s you!
Take care of that lovely person that YOU are
And enjoy the ride Smile

New Tool

IMG_6276

I have to say that I just love things that make my Life easy.
Doesn’t everybody?
Indeed …. this Rotating Rotary Cutter Mat really simplifies the cutting
I chose not the largest one but this one it’s ideal for me, considering I cut a lot of squares this is the perfect size
I’ve tried, but not yet used it in a full quilt, but so far I’m very Happy and I can see the benefits
And of course when you buy a tool some fabric has to come this way too, isn’t this sheep one lovely?
A fantastic addition for my stash Smile
Have a great weekend everybody xxx
