Sewing bag

And the Sewing Machine has been busy, and a Sewing Bag, well, another one, was on the cards

Binding on it’s way

Well, it was getting really difficult to look at the few unfinished projects I had here, and yesterday as the house was being cleaned, and with a lot of flooring available to prepare that big quilt, was really the perfect time to do so.
So after a few hours, top, wadding, and back fabric sorted. Quilted and the binding nearly there.
I have to say that I am really please with the final result.
The back fabric gives the quilt, a  younger look, something I always look for on my quilts.
Here’s a taster, but the bigger picture waiting for a sunny day or the right mood



Started on the next project and because fell totally in love with the back fabric of this quilt, using it in the next project too
And let me tell you it’s looking gorgeous too. Stay tuned
So almost all of my projects that have been started nearly sorted out, time for ideas for new ones
And ideas and projects are absolutely something that I never run out
All I need is time!!!!

Pretty in Pink

Used to have a phobia about zips, and took a while, and a few samples to finally beat that phobia.
Making this bag, and after I finished I was Happy about it, made me smile.
Love it!!!



Just a quick note.
Today I had a workman (yes I have a new toy) in my little, very little studio, and this bag was in my table ready to have the picture taken.
He the workman comes in, where does he decide to put his working stuff? You got it …………………… on top of my bag.
Dirty look?? No……………… I think it was more a ‘No Way Matey’ look, he soon realized and immediately removed his stuff
Hellloooooo!!!
But he was a lovely man, so all was forgiven, and he did a fantastic, neat, and exactly how I wanted job. Perfect, well almost as perfect as my wee bag, if you don’t mind me saying that

Now waiting for arm to let me start quilting



And meanwhile have to decide which thread to use



Decisions ……… decisions.
Well let’s hope this arm, gets good before I can start on the fun bit.

This one reminds me of the dresses my Grandmother used to make me, there’s just one item missing for the collection to be complete, the lovely Broderie Anglaise…… there’s lots on that fabric box

Sometimes, you just feel like trying, new methods, new ideas, and sometimes, after you do it, you put it away, until one day……
Then one day, you decide to pick up that piece that you have done.
And probably, that day, you add something to it.
You go through your scrap box…….. and ideas just flow

Still with a one and a half arm, operational, there’s more and more things being added to the list
Keeping with small projects at the moment. Leaving the ‘biggies’ for later, talking big, this was a nice one to make, the turning 20, mixed with quilt as you go, and some applique.
Nothing like keeping things easy .
Was such a lovely one to make, and it’s in pretty good hands now.

Borders for the Jelly Roll Quilt

I did touch my big quilt, and did two out of the three borders, but….
But, when I went for the third and final border it just didn’t do it for me.
And because I am a bit of a perfectionist, if it says ‘nay’ in my brain, is definitely a no
Tomorrow I will have to go to the shop and buy fabric for that third border
Here is the quilt with two of the borders



It is just getting big, and I think I won’t be able to quilt at the moment with my one and a half arm. Too big!!!
And about my arm, I have an appointment tomorrow, with a man, that I hope that it sorts my arm out.
Fingers crossed !!!

Trying to finish......

What a productive weekend this one has been.

Restarted and trying to finish this one.

Adding three borders, and I am sure it will just look lovely.

If there's something that really gives me immense pleasure is to have in the bed a quilt that I have done.

Have guests arriving in the end of the month, let's see if I can finish this one, and I am also sure Mrs Tutor would love to see another project finished, since she has never forgiven me for not finishing the first one, and yes I get reminded in every single class, if my heart is not in it, just can't do it.

One day I might show you the bits I have, and even with my full creativity cap, I just can't see it.
It was meant to be a sample quilt, but....... but mine was never meant to be I suppose

Anyway have to go and carry on sewing ....

Easy, join all the strips, and voila, ready or your next project, you’ll never be able to tell the difference
