And the studio is getting smaller….

I must have the smallest studio in the universe.
And if something, is going to make my life easy, or easier, I’m up for it
So from today I have two new helpers
An ironing board, and a lovely Dry Iron for Patchwork
How can you get excited about these two objects, you may ask?
We all work in a different way, but for me, ironing is just so important in Patchwork
And as I said, if it makes my life easier, I’m there



Let’s say nothing about what is written in the iron……… whatever……………..



Tools, gadgets……. another exciting one, arriving this week, again to make my life easier
I will show you when I get it, it’s on it’s way

Scraps

You know how much I love when I use my scraps.

When you finish a job made of scraps the feeling is just fantastic

Today I saw a lovely blog with another great idea

This lovely quilt, from this very talented Lady is just amazing

I want one ;-)

But Carla, you still have one to finish 'she says'. True!!

But one can always dream of a future project

Sunday Fabric Shopping

Well, well what a day in London
Started a beautiful collection today, I knew that going to Liberty’s would be a good choice.
A very good choice indeed
After a lot of thinking, it’s hard, so many beautiful fabrics, you just don’t know what to choose
And this is the beginning of a beautiful Love Affair
The fabrics are beautiful, very nice touch
One day I’m sure I will have a beautiful Quilt
This is the beginning of the collection



As going to Liberty’s wasn’t enough, why not go and see what the sales had to offer in a very nice department store, one of my favorites
Well, I thought it was Christmas, with Birthday all in the same day
Half price fabrics, Tanya Whelan, Verna Mosquera, Joel Dewberry all for Free Spirit
My inner voice kept telling me, Carla control yourself….
I tried, I promise,I did try……. but these had to come home with me, specially the check one from Tanya Whelan, I have been after it for a while

Creativity within the blog

It’s always nice to see a blog from a different angle.
We are all different, we all have different goals
The thing I want from my work, from everything I do in life is Quality, rather then Quantity
Reading about blogging and this immense world is fascinating, and there’s so much to learn that really you can just loose yourself reading about it
I have passion about my work, I have a total relaxed sensation, when I give what I have done
This is me, passion in everything I create, I might not be a fantastic blogger, and not post as much as one would like, but again, with everything else, unfortunately I also have to have a full time job, to pay for the bills that come every month
Yes in an ideal world I would post everyday, I would show lovely things, but here too, I have to be careful, not to expose myself too much
I will try and be a better blogger, and trying is good enough for me
This book that arrived today, well, let me tell you a secret, my team, Portugal, was playing, now just get the idea:
In the spare room with the TV on,laying in bed reading, quilt on top of me, so I could cover the screen when it didn’t look in our favour, sound totally off, and I read almost half of the book
All I can say, I get so much more from a Patchwork/Sewing and Quilting book, but this one, I need because is out of my comfort zone. I do recommend it, there’s lots to learn
And the feeling of learning something new, is just great
Just be patient with me

Origami for the books

Well I usually use Post-it’s to mark all the pages in the books of high interest
Actually I use Post-it’s for everything.
Assumed addicted!!
Well yesterday I found a great idea
For my lovely Patchwork books, and for the ‘Specials’ here is how they are now going to be marked

Simple but very effective, and above all, very pretty

.... there's a shop that has to be open this year, so much done, but yet so far away!!!

Girlie!!

I think that the next one has to be a girlie one!!

Pinks, reds......... hum I think it's time for a girlie quilt!!

Well at the moment working on this one, 24 squares by now.

In my friends words, this is a Labour of Love Quilt

Definitely, I do agree

But I'm enjoying, still don't know, how am I going to arrange the squares, but I am sure I will have plenty of suggestions from my lovely friends on the know.

From the experience that I have now in Patchwork, I come to realize that I'm a bit different from the Quilters I know, I don't have many Wip's (work in progress) projects.

Well I hope I continue like this, I think I would loose interest, if I didn't touch in them for a long time.

Oh well let's go and make another square.

Finished!!

And this it it!!!
The Jelly Roll Quilt has now been finished.
Waiting for a nice sunny day to be washed, and be ready for next Winter
I’m really pleased with the final effect.
A lot on unpicking, but well worth the decision!!

Lace

And today the postman had this wonderful parcel for me.
A total of 49 metres in lace
In couldn’t get any better could it?
Just need to organise it all now
Ooooppsss and they are on top of what I am doing now.
Just thought of it last night.
Cut all the fabric then, started sewing this morning and just going to finish now
And it looks wonderful, let me assure you

The right choice

Well..... regarding the previous post, it was one of my best decisions.

I refuse to count how many squares I have to unpick, but let me tell you that I have all ready done lots.

But it looks so much better, definitely worth every bit.

And this, tells a lot about me, not always I chose the easy route in life, not at all, but the rewards you get once reaching the goals are ten times better.

This quilt was an example, there was something that wasn't clicking, something that just wasn't right, sometimes and very often, I don't waste my energy in things that I think are not worth it, as I see it, Life is too short, and I move on.

But this one, because I spent so much time with it, something had to change, something had to be done, and I made the right decision and you know, what I love it even more.

Well worth all the extra time I'm spending on it.

This is what I call Patience!!!!

Remember this quilt well......

How shall I say, it was there on the side, almost finishing the binding, and not happy with the blue thread in the quilting.....

What do I decide to do?

Yes you got it.... this has to be the Mother of all Patience, unpick every single bit and re quilt......... can I just remind you that is a king size quilt ....

This is me, or I do it and I love it, or I don't do it at all.

I need a lotta lotta patience, but I will do it.

As my tutor say, if you can live with it fine, if not.......

I think she's going to be shocked when I tell her what I am doing

I just couldn't live with it, and I wasn't at all happy, shame I just noticed now, once I had done it all

Such is life ;-)

Am I weird?

Well I know the answer to that one. And it's a yes from me ;-)

Every time I finish a project and because I have a very small space, I have to tidy up, to go to the next project. I just can't function in a disorganised place.

I don't know if this is normal, I know I'm a very tidy person by nature, in the office and at home, everything has to be in place.

Would I change? Never I just like the way I am

So weird or not I am just like that ;-)

Enjoying a few days off this week, and started a small project
I just wanted to know why I can’t follow a project from start to finish

A love story ………..
